Works very well February 28, 2013

I really like this Honeywell AirGenius4 Air. I have been using a much smaller, much noisier air cleaner with little success in my massage room. The smaller cleaner needed constant air filter cleaning and after just a few months the red light indicator came on and has never turned off no matter how many filter cleanings I do. I think the small size is just not conducive for the amount of sheet dust in my room. This Honeywell AirGenius4 is much quieter and has more cleaning power. I use it on General Cleaning, but will use the Allergen Reducer when spring comes. I don't have any issues with odor, so I can't really say whether it reduces the odors dramatically, but the dust from the constant changing of sheets has always been a problem and this machine works extremely well at reducing the dust. It feels crisper/cleaner in my room now and I feel like I can breathe so much better with this on. I am very pleased with this product. REVIEWS..........

my son no longer wakes with a runny nose every morning and I have no asthma problems at night even with a dog who insists on sleeping next to my side of the bed all night long!

I've never heard the high pitched sounds some reviews have indicated, so I don't know what that sound means!. It's also tough - my son threw his down and kicked it and it still works flawlessly. REVIEWS..........

Another Buy With 5 Stars September 9, 2013

This Honeywell AirGenius5 is worth what I paid. Easy to operate through the console on top. Less dust, dog and human dander and the built-in ionizer is just one of two running. The only thing is that for pet dander, one really needs to have a steam cleaning for carpet just to act as an assist for the air cleaner. I do recommend this air cleaner. REVIEWS..........

FANTASTIC and VERY QUIET...

"HONEYWELL: 18155 SilentComfort Air Purifier"

First off, I'd like to say that this is the only air purifier I've ever owned so I cannot compare it fairly to others so I won't even try. But I've read dozens of reviews about the Honeywell QuietCare 17000 and noticed the main complaint is that it's not really queit at all. Well...I hope this helps.

As far as the noise level goes this SilentComfort 18155 is very quiet on MED and LOW. On HIGH, right next to it, it's about as loud as our dishwasher about 30 feet away. So it's not bad at all. I can still hear the television and have normal conversations with the family without yelling.

I've done some of my own studies to see how well the dust is being pulled into the machine and can see there is dust building up in the pre-filter over time. It seems to work very well. I've also noticed a difference on how fresh the air smells. My sneezing is almost down to zero, when it's running, and that tells me it's really working.

It does NOT have an IONIZER which IS A GOOD THING in my opinion. I've learned that these ionizers omit ozone. Which inside the home this ozone builds up and can be very harmful to the lungs. I did NOT like the sound of that so I turned away from the "ionizer" models.

It is very sturdy, a little bulky, but not too heavy to put in other rooms from time to time when I feel the need to relocate it. It blows cold air, not like a fan and not too direct, at a 360 degree radius(it also pulls from every direction). The cold air will be nice in the summer but it's not so nice right now in the winter. I like to put it next to the bed and it can get a little chilly when my covers come off. It has a very comforting and relaxing white noise hum to it. The motor runs very soft and consistant. REVIEWS..........

This product really does pull a lot of air through! I had an old Hunts model in my MIL's living room, and it was better than nothing, but this Honeywell really does wonderfully. I actually bought this, because I was looking for a permanent filter, but due to error on my own part, I did not realize this this also has actual HEPA filters which do need to be replaced (I know, it's even in the title, right?). However, due to the multiple filters, it actually does even better than a one-filter system! The only thing about this product is that, since it pulls air from the back and pushes through the front, it needs to be about 3 feet from any walls or anything blocking the airflow. We only have enough room for about 1 foot behind it, but it still works wonderfully!  REVIEWS..........

Works as intended with great output

I have used many different humidifiers over the years ranging from warm mist (higher electric bills, more difficult to clean and maintain), ultrasonic (I had a lot of white dust with these units), and cool mist (medium size units, which all broke over time). Most of them stated large or medium rooms, and would never really get the humidity level up quickly or maintain that level easily throughout the day. This one definitly has the output to do so and has been comparatively quiet compared to the ones i have used prior. The fan blower is actually not a regular fan with blades out (which was on my old model, and was very very loud on the highest output setting), this one is bearable and the fan is more of a wheel fan (i guess that is what they call it) with the blades internal (which makes it quieter and preferred for me). Anyway, the output is great on this if that is what you are looking for and this one actually shuts off when it hits the humidity you set (something my older ones never did, since it never output this much humidity they would always stay on). Air purifiers.

The cons to this is the fill tanks, I believe someone else mentioned this as well. They are NOT shaped very well for ease of filling and transportation (and have sharp edges), so becareful when you do fill them cause they get slippery as well and can crack easily if dropped. Another one is the overall size (it is fairly large with wheels to help move around the house if needed), but the size helps this humidifier have one of the highest outputs as well for the price.  REVIEWS..........

Wonderful purifier August 5, 2012

If you ever had (seasonal) allergies and have trouble sleeping, I would highly recommend trying this or equivalent HEPA purifier. Honeywell makes the 50250 which is bigger (too big for my room), and "certified" anti-allergy purifiers easily costs $500 or more. For me, an active and healthy adult, this purifier has made a night-and-day difference sleep-quality wise. Living in the middle of Manhattan, I blamed waking up in the middle of the night on traffic, fire engines, car alarms, noisy people, etc., but since I have this purifier in the bed room, I sleep all night through, and wake up rested. Interestingly, I don't have allergy related symptoms, such as runny nose, itchy eyes etc., but had severe hay fever as a child. For people who think white noise, this purifier is virtually silent on setting I (night setting), and works on II during the day. There is a III that is probably overkill. The purifier has a carbon pre-filter and a true HEPA filter, and an automatic indicator to signal filter replacement. All in all a highly effective product for a great price. REVIEWS..........
