I have tried several different air purifiers. This is by far the best I have tried. It is much quieter than others, compact size, the filter is permanent, and it works great. We are getting another one for another room.Here's why I bought it. I wanted an air cleaner for a medium to small sized room where I keep my cat's litter box. Normally, it doesn't smell, but about the day it's time to change it, I can smell it. Now, I don't want to smell it ever, though I keep my kitty box schedule in tact. Anyway, this air cleaner is so quiet on Whisper Mode that I literally cannot hear it.It's a great item and i'm extremely happy with it.  REVIEWS.....

We moved into an apartment that had some lingering smells that were terrible. I tried everything - diffusers, wallflowers, sprays, etc. but nothing seemed to get rid of the smell. I finally broke down and purchased this! It is amazing and quiet. I recommend getting the tobacco filters - it gets rid of even more smells than the original filters. I just wish they made one that you didn't need to plug in. I want to put one in the closet but all of the Hamilton Beach Odor Eliminators need to be plugged in. Reviews.....

Honeywell HPA-150. This replaced the tower fan in my room. It is more powerful and outputs filtered air. My allergies have drastically decreased since putting this in my fairly unhygienic home (shared with college kids). It is fairly loud in its medium/large output settings, but I typically enjoy it for it helps me fall asleep being able to drown out other sounds of the house. The low setting is fairly quiet and will do its job just fine if you just have it for air filtration and don't need it to cool the room. I Recommend. SEE DETAIL

I have a son who was born two months early. The doctors had a list of things for us to do for preparing our home to recieve the little guy who has some lung issues. This is a fairly quiet unit, in comparison to other HEPAs, but is no means silent. I would rate it as a 3 out of 10 for noise, with an average conversation volume being a 5. In my case, it works well, since the NICU is so loud, he got fairly used to a lot of white noise and we were actually warned sometimes these little guys have a harder time when it is too quiet.

In any case, judging by the condition of the filters after a few months of use, I cannot beleive the amount of junk trapped in them. Before that used to just be floating around and settling on the carpet to get kicked up again. I would recommend this to other parents. REVIEWS......
